If confidence breeds success, then American screenwriter, director, film and television producer, actor and LGBT rights activist Jerome Elston Scott is well on his way to a great career. Appearing on critically acclaimed television shows as disparate as ”Freaks and Geeks” and “Buffy The Vampire Slayer”, Scott quietly watched and studied then television directors Judd Apatow and Joss Whedon and learned about how to create dynamic and interesting characters. Those first hand experiences served him well when Scott went behind the camera for his directorial debut: the award winning feature film “Anderson’s Cross“. The film won numerous awards, was a film festival favorite, and reflected the kind of maturity and sensitivity that marked Scott as a young talent to watch.

Growing up in New Jersey and Florida, Scott comes from a loving, supportive family, who always challenged him to succeed at the highest level, even when he told them he wanted to venture into entertainment. “They asked me, do you want to be an actor, writer and director or do you want to be an actor, writer and director in show business?“ This was heavy stuff. I was in the third grade man! Understanding that a life of creating and performing in film would be more than a lark, Scott has carried that single-minded focus into his work. Scott has continued his “lifetime love of everything cinema“ and has ventured out into the production world creating shorts, pilots, series, commercials, infomercials and music videos. As a young African-American male, he is determined to not only entertain but inform the masses about the trials and tribulations of the marginalized. “Film is a powerful and influential tool.
