Michelle L. Curtis was born in southern California where as a child she was exposed to the entertainment industry early in the life.  From visits to historic Hollywood locations, watching black and white films with her grandfather and regular patronage of the studios… she knew she had to be a part of it all.

After a family move to Michigan, that passion continued… “I even have early memories of roaming the local library in search of classic Hollywood stories and photos… and pilfering a Charlie Chaplin photo from a book.  Sorry Saline Public Library!”  Inspired by pioneering female screenwriter/director Francis Marion, director William A. Wellman, and Carl Laemmle – industry icon and founder of Universal Studios… Michelle has always been steeped in entertainment history.

One of Michelle’s favorite quotes is from legendary writer/director John Huston: “Hollywood has always been a cage…. A cage to catch our dreams.”

Influenced by her love of early film, Hollywood lore and groundbreaking filmmakers Michelle attended Eastern Michigan University where she studied Film & Television history/production, while minoring in literature.  “I am a storyteller at heart”, says Michelle… “Professionally, I am always drawn to opportunities to use that ‘Hollywood cage’ to tell peoples stories in an authentic way”

Michelle’s career has spanned her entire professional life starting as a high school student working in radio production at WIQB in Ann Arbor, Michigan to her time as a Universal Studios Guide and Educator, Turner Classic Movies guest programmer with host Robert Osbourne, film festival presenter, freelance writer and college Film Studies guest lecturer.

Today, Michelle is an integral part of Harbor Heights Entertainment with a focus on producing, research, concept development and most importantly ensuring authentic story telling is at the heart of every Harbor Heights project.
